Q: What do we wear to the session?

A: The outfits you select for your portraits can determine to a large degree how your finished image will look on your wall. That’s why when you call to schedule your appointment, we will send you a brochure that helps with clothing, makeup, jewelry, hairstyles and other questions you may have as you prepare for your session. Solid colors always look best. Nothing is left to chance, so you can arrive at our session feeling prepared, relaxed and looking your best.

Q: Can we do the portraits in the studio or in our home?

A: Yes, you may have portraits done here in the studio or in our 60-acre portrait park. We can also come to your home, the session fee is higher for that.

Q: What if it rains on our session day?

A: We will keep very close tabs on the weather. There are several places in our portrait park area that can provide shelter in a beautiful setting, even with a light rain. When the weather becomes bad enough, we can reschedule the session or refund your down payment if rescheduling is impossible.

Q: What is the best time of day to be photographed?

A: The best time of day is when the weather is most comfortable, usually between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Our outdoor park areas provide beautiful, flattering light between those times.

Q: How long will the session last?

A: Although an hour to an hour and a half will be reserved for your session, in most cases the actual photography will only take 30-45 minutes (depending on the number of people). We’ll spend a little time talking about any ideas you have, and we will also take some time to get to know everyone in the portrait, so we can help them feel comfortable and look their best.

Q: Do we need to bring any money to the session?

A: Your session is reserved with a $100 down payment when you call. (This down payment goes towards your session and anything left over will go towards your portrait order.) Anything left on the session will be due that day. For your convenience, you may pay half the balance at the time of the order and the other half when you pick your portraits up. No part of an order may be picked up until the entire balance is paid in full. Cash, personal checks, money orders and all major credit cards accepted (Visa, Mastercard and Discover).

Q: Are you open on weekends?

A: All appointments are made on weekdays, generally during the “good light” hours of 8:00 through 5:00. In order for our photography to remain creative, the weekend “recharge time” is spent with our families.

Q: What if we need help in making pose selections?

A: When you return to see your portraits, our staff will be glad to offer suggestions about specific poses and sizes. We will take the time to help you get exactly the portraits you want, in the styles and sizes you want, at the best possible price and with a minimum of fuss.
